About the Project

Tonka, a premium brand specializing in artisanal scented candles, approached us to design a refined digital platform that would reflect the brand’s sensory depth and craftsmanship. Their goal was to craft a luxurious online experience that not only showcased their products but also evoked the calming, intimate ambiance their scents are known for.

Tonka’s former website lacked polish, cohesion, and didn’t communicate the brand’s elevated identity. The user journey was clunky, product discovery was unintuitive, and there was minimal storytelling around the scents. Mobile performance was weak, which posed a problem given the rise in mobile-first shopping.

We undertook a complete overhaul of the brand’s digital experience, from narrative structure and UX flow to visual hierarchy and interaction design. Over four months, our team worked closely with Tonka to deliver a platform that felt as refined as the product it represented, marrying luxury with function.

We developed a sensorially rich website using subtle animations, an immersive homepage layout, and a minimal yet warm aesthetic. Custom scent filter tools, lifestyle-inspired product photography, and a refined color palette created a tranquil and elegant environment for shoppers.

These elements helped Tonka stand out in a saturated lifestyle market. The responsive design improved accessibility, while detailed product storytelling and a frictionless checkout experience led to stronger conversions and deeper brand engagement. Every page was designed to smell like Tonka visually.
